About Us:

G1 was founded for the baseball/softball player that is looking for a higher tier of training for their hitting development. Hitting is the hardest athletic activity in all of sports, and we believe your training should both recognize and be reflective of that. We aim to make premium coaching, equipment, and training environements available to the select group of athletes that realize they need to make a change in order to reach their full potential. We offer a comprehensive approach to your development, inside of a facility that has every resource a hitter could ever need to be successful. We have spent years developing systems that are actionable, repeatable, and will keep you on a consistent path of improvement.

Austin Guy

Founder/Lead Instructor

Austin has spent the last decade developing hitters ranging from youth, through high school and college, and all the way to professional baseball. Over the last ten years, Austin has had stints as a collegiate hitting coach, a high school head coach, and a private instructor.

Austin served as the hitting coach at Division II Shepherd University (WV) from 2017-2019. In those three years, the Rams consistently were able to put together statistically one of the most dominant offenses in Division II baseball. During all three years, Shepherd was top 10 in the country in batting average, home runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and runs per game. Two players from those teams were selected in the MLB draft, including current Colorado Rockies centerfielder and fourth-round draft pick Brenton Doyle, and 13th round draft pick Jared Carr (Phillies).

Austin currently serves as the Head Baseball Coach at Leonardtown High School in Southern Maryland. At the time this is being written, Austin has a career 46-18 (.741) record as the head coach at Leonardtown. In 2024 during Austin’s second year at the helm, Leonardtown High School won the 4A Maryland State Championship, which was the second in school history and the first since 1987. In 2025, the Raiders set the regular season wins record at Leonardtown High School, with 15 wins in an 18 game season.

Austin’s passion for developing hitters has given him the opportunity to travel the United States over the last ten years, learning from some of the best hitting minds that the game has to offer.  He is excited to share that knowledge with our G1 community, and help players become the confident, dangerous hitters that they desire to be.
